Landeric, Comte de Nevers
Abt 965 - 1028 (~ 63 years)-
Name Landeric Suffix Comte de Nevers Born Abt 965 Gender Male History Landèric was the son of Bovin, seigneur de Monceau-le-Comte. About 989 he married Mathilde de Bourgogne, daughter of Eudes Guillaume, comte de Bourgogne, comte de Mâcon, and Ermentrud/Irmgard de Roucy. Mathilde was given the county of Nevers by her father as a dowry. They had several sons of whom Renaud I and Bodo would have progeny.
After the death of Henri, duc de Bourgogne, in 1002, Landèric assisted his father-in-law in the battle for supremacy in the duchy of Burgundy against Robert II \'le Pieux\', king of France. He took over the defence of Auxerre that was surrounded in 1005 by a large royal army. Landèric had to surrender, but was pardoned. The king persuaded him to take his side and offered his daughter Alys in marriage to Landèric\'s son Renaud. Alys was given the county of Auxerre as her dowry.
