  History	Hawise was born in 977, the daughter of Richard I \'the Fearless\', duke of Normandy, and his wife Gunnor. In 996 she married Geoffrey I, duc de Bretagne, son of Conon I \'le Tort\', duc de Bretagne, and Ermengarde d\'Anjou. About four years later her brother Richard II married Judith de Bretagne, Geoffrey\'s sister. Hawise and Geoffrey had at least four children, of whom Alain and Eudes would have progeny. On the death of her husband in 1008, Hawise became dowager duchess of Brittany and regent for her ten years old son Alain III, the future duke of Brittany. Hawise died at Rennes on 22 February 1034.
